JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENTS HELD OVER THE QUEENS BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND
Two junior tennis tournaments conducted by Ossie’s Tennis Coaching were held at the Pakenham Tennis Club over the Queens Birthday long weekend. These events were part of a 12 event series held throughout the year. A total of 47 junior players from eight different clubs competed in 94 sets of tennis over the weekend. Results were as follows:
Saturday’s tournament…
A grade winner: Rob Panozzo (Pakenham), R-Up: Daniel Axnick (Drouin) Score 6-3, 0-6, 10-6 (super tie-break)
B grade winner: Ben Merritt (Fountain Gate), R-Up: Nathan Riddle (Pakenham) Score 6-0
C grade winner: Ryan Moulding (Pakenham), R-Up: Ben Mackinlay (Beaconsfield) Score 6-5
Sunday’s tournament…
A grade winner: Rob Panozzo (Pakenham), R-Up: Daniel Axnick (Drouin) Score 7-5, 6-1
B grade winner: Nathan Riddle (Pakenham), R-Up: Toby Ross (Pakenham) Score 8-7
The next junior graded singles tournament in the series will be held on Sunday July 25.
